Scuba Diving Locations~~~ ~~ ~
Muscat, Oman - The Gulf (Water temperature ~24șC : Visibility 3-10m)
| General Comments: Good location for diving to see
large fish. A small selection of equipment, books or maps to buy - all
can be hired. Visibility relatively poor due to the plankton/bloom,
but this is what attracts the big fish. Most sites don't require
Guides except for a description of the site, and the boat to get you
there. Plenty to see on land - the locals
are friendly & helpful - tourism is expanding rapidly. The
temperature during our visit was very comfortable at 30șC, but can
reach 50șC in summer. For more info on Oman Diving see http://www.diveoman.com.om Worthy of note: Moray Eels (large and varied); Cuttlefish (didn't know they grew that big ~40cm/18"); Turtles; Rays |
